Travel to China
Getting to China
A return flight to Shanghai from the UK will cost on average between £450 and £900. The final price will depend on the factors below:
Number of stopovers involved in your journey, a direct flight will probably be more expensive
How far in advance you book your flights, booking a flight nearer to the departure date will be considerably more expensive
When will I have to book my flights and travel insurance?
If you are offered a conditional place on the programme we will instruct you to book your flights once we have confirmed that you meet eligibility requirements. You will be required to book your flights within two weeks of being notified that you meet eligibility requirements and have a confirmed offer of a place.
We will give you a deadline by which time you must:
- Book and confirm your flight details
- Book and confirm your travel insurance
Please make sure that you have funds in place to be able to book your flight. Regardless of the reason, we cannot offer any extensions to flight and travel insurance deadlines.
In the interests of fairness to all participants, if you cannot meet the flight and travel insurance deadline we will revoke your status as a confirmed participant on the Study China programme. You will automatically be moved to our RESERVE list, if a place becomes available again at a later date we will offer you a place. Please note that there is no guarantee that a place will become available.
Please do not book or make any travel arrangements unless you have been notified to do so by the Study China Office.
When do I need to arrive in China?
