Finance and Bursaries
Study China programme is funded by the government.
The following costs are all covered by the government sponsors :
- Accommodation for the duration of the programme
- Airport pickup and drop off (on specific date)
- Tuition of language and academic courses
- Activities and associated trips
- Contribution towards food/travel/mobile phone minutes
Costs which you will need to fund :
-Flights (estimated at £500-£800)
-Visa (£66 in May 2012)
-Spending money ( from previous programmes the average is £300 )
-Travel Insurance
-Vaccinations
-Food
-Activities undertaken in free time
Estimated costs to be funded by you will be in the range of £900 to £1200
Bursaries
Study China Programme offers Widening Participation bursaries for each academic year.
Applicants will be asked to submit evidence confirming receipt of Widening Participation support, a student maintenance grant and parental income.
Due to the nature of Widening Participation bursary, postgraduate applicants are not eligible to apply.
You will be notified prior to departure if you have been awarded a bursary.
Bursaries are paid after the programme has been successfully completed, therefore you would receive the bursary in September 2013.
Alternative funding and bursary options :
Several universities are now providing funding and assistance specifically for this programme.
We recommend you contact the following departments as soon as you have been offered a place :
International Office
School Office
Careers Office
We will if requested provide you with a letter of acceptance onto the programme for correspondence with the above departments.
